Howick Community Farmers100% Grass Fed Beef: Humanely raised on pasture in harmony with nature. During winter months cattle are housed indoors on loose bedding and fed dry hay and or fermented or elsilaged grasses. No Growth Hormones - No Antibiotics - No GMO's - No Artifical anything
Pastured Chicken: Raised on family farms, our chickens are free to wander through green grass fields, choosing their own diets of grass and grains. They are raised during the summer months to ensure every little flock has the opportunity to absorb lots of warm sunshine and fresh air. To protect them from predators during the night, each flock is supplied with a portable shelter. What a pleasant chore for the children, to run out in the field each evening to close up the shelters, and again in the morning to let the chickens out into the wide open meadows! No Cages - No Antibiotics - No GMO's - Nothing Artifical
Pastured Heritage Pork: Back to the old-fashioned days when grandfather was a boy! Our mostly Berkshire-Tamworth cross pigs are raised outdoors in the summer. Besides being fed NON-GMO grains, their favorite pastime is finding a natural diet in the grass fields: lush grass, nutritious weeds, plus being a pig! Rooting and digging.
Pastured Lamb: Out in the meadows, to feed and play, our lambs are raised on family farms, like in olden days. During the winter months they are fed NON-GMO grains, besides dry hay. No Antibiotics - No GMO's - No Artifical Anything
Traditionally Made 100% Pure Organic Maple Syrup: Our maple syrup is produced the old-fashioned way on small family sugar-bush operations. Sap is boiled down over wood fires. The result is 100% pure maple syrup, containing only the natural flavour, sweetness and nutrients.
The Mennonite Way
Howick Community Farms started around 2013 as a group of neighboring horse and buggy Mennonite farmers near Wingham in Howick Township, Ontario, who banded together to share infrastructure and sell their combined farm output.
